A paper may focus on a historic event, thus adopting a framework similar to one found in an essay for a history class, or it may be focus on a theoretical model and be similar to an essay for a stats class. It is difficult to distill economics into a single writing format, but the following sample paper will serve to demonstrate some fundamental characteristics of how to write in the field of economics. Take note that some sentences have been omitted in an effort to discourage plagiarism (indicated with ellipses). These sentences may contain vital information for the essay itself, but overall the annotations will provide a useful set of insight on how an economics paper should be constructed and written.
